ThermiVa is a non-surgical procedure that sends controlled thermal energy to the external and internal vaginal tissues to rejuvenate them.

For years, women have undergone cosmetic surgery for a variety of rejuvenating treatments. The non-surgical, energy-based treatments offered by our clinic have allowed women to take back control of their bodies without going under the knife.

ThermiVa is an in-office, non-surgical procedure that sends controlled thermal energy to the external and internal vaginal tissues. The temperature-controlled radiofrequency system allows our physicians to rejuvenate and restore vaginal skin to counteract the effects of childbirth, hormone fluctuation, and aging.

The energy conducted during the vaginal rejuvenation treatment promotes collagen remodeling, which helps strengthen the support structures of the vagina. The elasticity of the skin and muscles is increased, while the targeted heat tightens and restores the entire vaginal area. ThermiVa is performed in three separate treatments over a course of three months.

Before undergoing any procedure, it’s common (and smart) to have questions. We’re here to simplify your research and answer some of the frequently asked questions about ThermiVa.

Who is the ideal ThermiVa candidate?

Vaginal rejuvenation treats a variety of issues, making the candidate pool quite large. ThermiVa is ideal for women experiencing the following symptoms:

  • “looseness” after vaginal delivery;
  • chronic vaginitis;
  • overactive bladder while peri- or post-menopausal;
  • urinary incontinence;
  • inability to take hormones after breast cancer;
  • chronic vaginal infection;
  • elasticity from aging.

If you fit into one of these categories, ThermiVa could be for you. The biggest category that prefers this treatment is the peri-menopausal woman, however, this therapy suits women of all ages.

Why should I choose ThermiVa for my non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation?

ThermiVa is able to tighten areas while increasing the volume, appearance, sensation, and functionality of the vagina. This non-invasive procedure also reduces the risks associated with hormone therapy.

While ThermiVa and laser treatments bear the same results, ThermiVa is much quicker and does not require any anesthesia. Instead of utilizing lasers, ThermiVa uses an “S” shaped wand with a thermistor tip to perform the treatment. Laser treatments do not treat the labia while ThermiVa treats the labia majora and minora.

Does it hurt?

No. It is possible to feel a warm sensation during treatment but there is no pain involved.

Why is ThermiVa performed in stages?

ThermiVa is conducted in three separate treatments over three months. Each treatment takes 20-30 minutes to complete. To get the effect you want, it takes time.

The maximum treatment for effective results is to perform three 30-minute treatments on a monthly basis for three months, and then repeat the procedure once every year or year and a half.

How quickly will I see results and how long will they last?

Results are visible immediately. ThermiVa treatments can be repeated any number of times with no maximum number of treatments. Some cases only require a single treatment.

What is the recovery process like?

There is no recovery process for ThermiVa patients. Since anesthesia is not involved, patients can immediately return to all activities post-procedure.
